“Does Jesus Have Grey Hair – Hebrews 13:8”

Happy St. Nicholas Day!   Did anyone have trouble getting their shoes on today?

Week 2 of Advent

18 days till the BIRTH of CHRIST,

and this is the 8th day of the ADVENT season.

“HO, HO, HO-ly God, We Praise Thy Name!”

Quote of the Day:

The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Today’s Meditation:

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. — Hebrews 13:8

This is a relatively benign verse if just read and forgotten.  Jesus has always been.  He walked with Adam and Eve in paradise on earth.   He was with Elijah and Moses, as God.  He was born to a virgin girl in human form, and grew up as a ‘normal’ child.

Jesus had life long friends and enemies.  Individuals, and groups, were seeking Him out to either praise or destroy Him.  He was cheered, and jeered, – sometimes on the same day!  Even after death, He chose to return to HIs earthly existence to reclaim His earthly throne, and to fulfill the Scriptures.

Today, Jesus lives through us.  He strives to convert all men’s souls, and to bring them to His Heavenly paradise.  In the future, Jesus will return again, and will rise all either to eternal salvation, or eternal doom.

Has Jesus changed through all of this?  No, we have!  Amen!!

Pax et Bonum

Dan Halley, SFO

Secular Franciscan Order (SFO) Rule #6:

They have been made living members of the Church by being buried and raised with Christ in baptism; they have been united more intimately with the Church by profession. Therefore, they should go forth as witnesses and instruments of her mission among all people, proclaiming Christ by their life and words.

Called like Saint Francis to rebuild the Church and inspired by his example, let them devote themselves energetically to living in full communion with the pope, bishops, and priests, fostering an open and trusting dialog of apostolic effectiveness and creativity.
