[Hail holy Queen] … To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; …
Mary IS the new Eve. She came from God, to bring God, for our salvation. Eve was banished from God’s eternal happiness, and Mary is returning God’s eternal happiness to us. Adam was banished because of Eve’s action, and we are returned to God’s grace due to Mary’s action. This was prophesized in the Old Testament, and fulfilled in the New Testament: Though you may have been driven to the farthest corner of the world, even from there will the LORD, your God, gather you; even from there will he bring you back (NAB Deut 30:4).
Yesterday, I heard Steve Ray say, “The Old Testament is the New Testament hidden, and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed.” How true this is! I love finding these little treasures. I think I will call these little treasures from the bible ‘Scripture -caching’ in the future.

Secular Franciscan Rule #8:
As Jesus was the true worshipper of the Father, so let prayer and contemplation be the soul of all they are and do. Let them participate in the sacramental life of the Church, above all the Eucharist. Let them join in liturgical prayer in one of the forms proposed by the Church, reliving the mysteries of the life of Christ.
